THAT FILMY DUDEReel Talk · No FilterNow Showing - Opinions, Uncut
Reviews that do not kiss the poster. Galleries worth stopping to scroll. The film world, minus the PR spin.
Karunas delivers one of his finest, most grounded performances in years in this sincere Rameswaram-set drama, backed by a superb Nimisha Sajayan. Add real international festival wins to the mix, and Enna Vilai is a Tamil drama well worth your time.
Yash delivers one of his most emotionally committed performances yet, but Toxic buries it under a bloated screenplay, jarring editing, and characters the film never bothers to explain. Style over substance, in the worst way possible.
Ravi Teja finally finds the redemption arc he needed, backed by two genuinely menacing antagonist performances from Swasika Vijay and Ramesh Indira, and one of the most talked-about songs of the year. A thoughtful, emotionally grounded family drama worth the watch.
Girish A.D. delivers his best film yet, pairing Nivin Pauly and Mamitha Baiju in a warm, believable love story lifted even higher by a stacked supporting cast, Roshan Shanavas, Suresh Krishna, Srinda and more, all getting genuine moments to shine. This is exactly the Onam watch you're looking for.
Prithviraj delivers pure swagger as Amir Ali in this gangster saga, with Malvika Sharma making a striking Mollywood debut. Uneven pacing in the second half, but the action, the score, and two killer cameos make it a strong Onam contender.
Suriya returns after Karuppu's success with a warm, family-rooted drama that starts strong and stumbles late. The first half is genuinely fun, the second drags through an unnecessary subplot, but the leads' chemistry keeps it from tipping into forgettable.
An emotional farewell rather than just another commercial entertainer, Jana Nayagan celebrates Thalapathy Vijay's final film with mass moments, political flavour, and plenty of fan service.
Verdict: An Ambitious, Visually Enthralling Mythological Thriller Elevated by a Mesmerizing and Commandingly Sophisticated Performance from Shraddha Das.
Idhayam Murali is silly, occasionally cringe, sometimes illogical, and undeniably old-school. But that's exactly why it works. In an era where every film wants to be layered, gritty, or "cinema," this one is content with making you laugh, smile, and relive the carefree rom-coms that once defined Tamil cinema.
